1、 Overview of solar battery

Solar battery is applied in solar photovoltaic power generation system. At present, there are four types of lead-acid maintenance-free battery, ordinary lead-acid battery, colloid battery and alkaline nickel-cadmium battery. At present, the solar batteries widely used in China are mainly lead-acid maintenance-free batteries and colloidal batteries. Because of their inherent "maintenance-free" characteristics and less pollution to the environment, these two types of batteries are very suitable for solar power systems with reliable performance, especially unattended workstations.

Ordinary lead-acid batteries are mainly suitable for maintenance or low-grade applications because of the need for frequent maintenance and high environmental pollution. Although alkaline nickel-cadmium battery has good low temperature, overcharge and discharge performance, it is only suitable for special occasions due to its high price.

2、 Life of solar battery

① Ordinary solar battery

The plate of ordinary solar battery is composed of lead and lead oxide, and the solution is sulfuric acid aqueous solution. Its main advantages are stable voltage and low price. The disadvantages are low specific energy, short service life and frequent daily maintenance. The service life is about 1 year.

② Dry load solar battery

Its full name is dry-type charged lead-acid battery. Its main feature is that the negative plate has a high storage capacity, and can store the energy obtained within two years in a completely dry state. When using, just add the electrolyte, 20? - It can be used after 30 minutes, and the service life is about 2-3 years.

③ Maintenance-free solar battery

Due to its structural advantages, the maintenance-free solar battery consumes very little electrolyte, and does not need to replenish distilled water during its service life. It also has the characteristics of shock resistance, high temperature resistance, small size and small self-discharge. The service life is generally twice that of ordinary solar battery. There are also two types of maintenance-free batteries on the market. The first is to add the electrolyte at one time when purchasing and then use it without maintenance. The other is that the battery itself has been added with the electrolyte and sealed when leaving the factory. The user cannot add the supplementary solution at all. The service life is about 4 years.

3、 Use and maintenance of solar battery

① The suitable working temperature is 15~20 ℃.

② The connection method of the solar battery is to connect the positive pole of the solar battery with the positive pole and the negative pole with the negative pole. In this way, the power of the solar battery will be doubled, and the voltage is the same as that of a solar battery. The two poles of the solar battery shall not be short-circuited (contact).

③ For the solar battery that is newly installed or renovated for the first time, conduct a long time of charging. For initial charging, it should be charged according to the current of 1/10 of the rated capacity. Before installation, it is necessary to measure whether the battery is sufficient. If the power is insufficient, please charge the battery in a sunny place for more than 8-16 hours or use AC power to fully charge the battery. Overdischarge charging should be strictly avoided. When using AC power for normal charging, it is better to use the graded charging method, that is, use the constant current of large current to equalize the charge at the initial stage of charging, and change to the conventional constant voltage floating charging method after charging to the equalizing voltage and constant voltage for a certain time.

④ Keep the battery clean. The installed solar battery pole should be coated with Vaseline to prevent corrosion.

⑤ Configure online monitoring and management technology for solar battery, measure and analyze the internal resistance of solar battery online, find the defects of the battery in time, and maintain it in time.

⑥ Prevent the solar battery from freezing and cracking in winter, and avoid direct sunlight in summer. The solar battery should be placed in a ventilated and cool place.
